My white corn is over 6 ft now. Other years I have had some worms in the tassels by now. So far no worms. Do these worms have a cycle, and maybe going to miss me this year? Lots of moisuure in the ground, and good healthy plants. Stan

Might not be the case here, but there are corn varieties developed now that are highly resistant to insect pests. As far as i know corn earworms dont run in cyclic type pattern, around here i fight them year in and year out.Part of their life cycle is spent underground though ,(and believe it or not that was a large part of why we plowed in the past,to kill insects),so if you had a really wet or extremly cold spring and winter it would likely affect them somewhat. If you just plowed this plot for some reason that would effect them also.just be thankful and get ready to fight them next time!LOL
