Farmall C thermostat

I am restoring a Farmall C my grandpa gave to me and originally it did not have a thermostat, I am adding a water pump and I was wondering where the thermostat goes ( I have an automotive type ) and how it mounts onto the tractor. Any information would be great.

Thanks for your time,
Joe

Goes in the top casting, on the motor, where rubber hose attaches going into the radiator. You will need a spacer and a "keeper" that holds the thermostat and spacer in place.

OK so you are adding a thermostat for what i dont know. Your tractor came without a water pump so the housing is not made for a thermostat. The ones that used a thermostat were larger as the radiator had a larger fitting so you cannot instal a thermostat in your housing. Now if you get a larger housing for the thermostat how can you get a hose thats larger on one end than the other. Just forget the thermostat you dont need it
