My wife now has the distinction of having run into a deer---with a lawn mower.

I didn't see it, but she said she was mowing alongside the shelter belt by our driveway with our 42" riding mower when a deer came charging out of the shelterbelt and into the front of the mower.

No damage done to either.
 
I never heard of that happening before. I once came very near to running into a great blue heron while riding a bicycle, but luckily it just missed me.

Good story, truth is stranger than fiction sometimes.

You sure it wasn't the deer running into the lawn mower?? Either that or you better get that thing fixed because if it is that fast it is way to fast. LOL
 
I can't say much. I hit a wild turkey while I was riding a dirt bike about 20 years ago. Never did figure out which one of us was the most surprized!
 
our mail lady dodged 2 deer the other day while delevering mail, hit the ditch and turned over, highway patrolman gave her a ticket for c&r, telling her that deer don't move at 1:30 pm.
 
I can believe it, one Christmas eve, went out to shed where kids presents were hid :) No lights on cause I didnt want any beady little eyes looking out window. Rounded corner of house 2 deers (couldnt tell if does or bucks) right at corner, almost ran over me, one knocked metal trash can over, dont know who was scared the most, had to set in shed for awhile to catch my breath, then had good laugh.
 
I had a buzzard fly into the windshield of the car right in front of my face, did not crack glass but sliding of side of glass broke off mirror.
 
Not quite the same but a spotted fawn just about ran my wife over a couple of weeks ago when she was standing in the yard. It went running through the yard and missed her by a foot or two, darting back and forth. I saw it run past a window, it was going pretty fast at that point. I got up to see if she had seen it and she told me she got a really good close up!
 
Many autumns ago, a flock of Canada geese took off from a pond adjacent to highway. One flew headon into the grille of my truck. I was doing about 40 mph. That goose looked the size of a Cessna.
It took out grille; radiator; tripped hood release, hood popped up bending it at hinges. I couldn"t see, so took to right shoulder resulting in blown right front tire. I was lucky, but it sure tore that truck up.
