Where are they now?OT

Well, external_link had a bunch of them as his "economic advisors" in the White House. Most of them have bolted, at this point.

Maybe they're on their way back to the drawing board.

I had to do a "compare and contrast" paper in college on John Maynard Keynes and Milton Friedman. Loved Friedman (a conservative economist) and hated Keynes, to the point that I couldn't finish reading his book. Apparently pretty obvious to the prof- in his comments, he said it would have been better if I had read Keynes' book, but he could sympathize with me, as it was "a big load to swallow".

(quoted from post at 11:21:32 07/26/11) All of the "debt doesn't matter economists".

Don't believe there was ever any doubt that debt "does matter", by external_links' people..

Over the years, what the evidence suggests is that when conservatives are at the helm...debt is not managed but hidden..Which when uncovered by a abundant administraton tends to thwart honest recovery...

Yet the speaker, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell all voted for major drivers of the nation’s debt during the past decade: Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the 2001 and 2003 Bush tax cuts and Medicare prescription drug benefits. They also voted for the Troubled Asset Relief Program, or TARP, that rescued financial institutions and the auto industry.

Together, a Bloomberg News analysis shows, these initiatives added $3.4 trillion to the nation’s accumulated debt and to its current annual budget deficit of $1.5 trillion.

At the rate he's going, external_link will increase the debt by more than any other president.

Of course Boehner will have the same influence on external_link's budgets as Pelosi did on Bush's, so things should moderate now.

The interest on the Debt is 1 million dollars per minute..........Doesnt it make you sick that the politicians have done this to America.
1.3 billion in interest per day.

Sometime within the next 5 years the United States will default, then the journey back to sanity will begin.
