(and everyone else suffering under the drought!)

Not sure what happened to the drought, but we woke up to cloudy skies this morning - and it hasn't even made it to 80 degrees today here in the OK panhandle!

We've had a few small showers the past few evenings - Dad's place had about 3/10s of an inch out of all of them together...

Its not much moisture compared to some places, but it is sure way better than 110 degrees with 30 mph 5% humidity wind!

Maybe things are turning better now...

Sure sounds encouraging !!
Although in my silence ... I think and pray often for relief down there for especially James and Nancy.

I do wonder how soon we will feel the affects of this drought up here in the beef market ? Then on to the grain and produce that has been lost ??

Neighbor is still selling locally small rounds $25.00 But needs to keep some for winter for himself.

The local (Shreveport, LA) weather lady is predicting 10% chance of rain today and Friday.

She says Saturday and Sunday are at 20%.

Hopefully we can get a little rain before next weekend.

Hope y'all get some rain along the way to.

I've been down in "the bottom" pulling up drought-resistant goat weed every morning since Monday.

Getting ready to cut, rake, and bale some hay in about 10 days.

oward, you are not a veterinarian are you?

Dallas is within 2 days of matching the all time record for consecutive days of 100 or better. High for Sat is 99. We'll see. If we break 100 on Sat, it will be a new record. 100+ temps forecast for next week. No rain for Dallas.

Like James says, slight chance of rain over the weekend at the farm.

I looked at the radar yesterday and every state that borders Texas was getting rain along with Mexico.

I've seen strange weather patterns but if I were to name this weather pattern I'd name it the "Texas Smitted" pattern.

Hi JMOR -

No, not a vet - why??

I used to farm... Now I just do IT work for the local university and dabble with old tractors...
