IH Red Diamond engine

I am looking for a running condition red diamond 6 cylinder engine from an IH truck 372,450,501 etc. Somewhere reasonably close to south central South Dakota. Failing that, does anybody know of a good parts source for a 372?

Thanks again guys.

Depending on what you're looking for, finding normal overhaul parts from an engine supplier shouldn't be a problem. Slow moving parts such as valve train, cyl. head, etc. best found on G503.com (a military vehicle club website). The predominant engine on this site is the 361, but everything up to and including the 406 will interchange. I don't know what's different 450cid-up. I've got 406 sleeve/piston sets and 406 exhaust valves in my 361. With 7.16 ring & pinion it gets about 6 MPG. A complete engine? In Ohio we have Sam Winer Motors, or Adelman's Truck Parts, neither one close to South Dakota. What do you need? Fritz

Ok, the deal is I bought a M-5h-6 truck and really want to get it going - pretty nice shape overall except for engine - stuck - 2 cylinders badly rusted and valves stuck .. Was told it had a 372 in it.. But not so shure now - Are you saying 361 would be original size in this truck? And 406 sleeves will fit?

That's the exact vehicle I have! Yes, 406 sleeves fit. I don't know what year the 372 came out. BUZZMAN would know, maybe he'll read this and tell us. I've never heard of one in an M5H6. The engine model and serial will be stamped on a little machined surface on the block, L.F. corner, just below the head. Mine's RED 361B s/n 19018. I've still got five 361 sleeves, but my pistons are all shot from pre ignition. You can have a couple sleeves if you need them. I just figures, though, the 361 is the hardest to find pistons for, just try g503.com like I said. Same class of guys as those on Y.T. Fritz

i have a good runing 450 in a r190 1968 tandom axel truck. It is a newer shortblock.rear end problem with truck.

I have an old IH truck- ton and one half, 5 speed, 2 speed axle with a low mile IH 6cylinder, late 50"s or early 60"s, in Ky. Not sure what size engine though.
