12.4 Tires on 13.6 Rims?

Will 12.4 x 28 tires fit well on a rim that currently has 13.6 x 28 tires on it? Just wondering if the 13.6 rim will be too wide for the narrower tires.

Don't know the actual rim width off hand, but the 13.6 don't extend too far on either side.

Also, tractor is IH 300 U. Thanks.

Yes, but if the tires are used and a little stiff you might have some difficulty getting the beads to seat. Use lots of dish soap on the tire and rim.

Well #1, i don't think the rim is 13.6, how about 13" . As for fitting, we have 12" rims on our JD late (A). We have 12.4-38 on the rims and they look great. Usually they are 12.4-38 on 11" rims, but i don't like the looks of the side walls being sucked in, myself. As for putting 12,s on 13,s they will look very BALONEY and will mount a little hard and will need lots on SOAP. Tread may not set flat once mounted. Then again it is your tractor.

Well yes no or maybe but depending on how wide the rim s they may look funny but then a lot of times people put on the next size wider on rims that where made for the smaller size. If you where to measure the rims and find they are 11 inches wide your just fine if you find they are say 12 inches then ya you can put them on but the rim and tire will look a bit odd since the rim and tire are about the same as for how wide they are. Either way you have to use tubes on those rims any how so short answer yes you can do it but may look odd
