Heat in central Texas

I was digging a ditch in the back yard this afternoon, temp around 105. I was using a pick and shovel. The ditch was in the shade and I had a high velocity fan blowing on me. well, as I was digging the ditch my 2 chihuahuas were laying in it. I guess it was cooler in the ditch than anywhere else around. The dogs aren't allowed inside because they have contest to see who can mark the most. The ditch was 40 feet long, 4 inches wide and 8 inches deep.

I just finished a ditch like that only 200 yards near Dallas. I used a little tractor with a subsoiler. It made it a lot easier.

kito, Ruffly the same temps here in South Central Texas, Hamilton, Lampasas, Georgetown area today.
Still No rain here at the House. Though Austin took a shower yesterday. A few Farmers are disking up oat ground for winter grazing, Though I an in serious doubt if they will get the chance to graze any before January at the present rate of getting rain!

I am over here in Centerville. We had high winds,dust blowing and trees and buildings damaged.With just enough rain to wet the hood of my truck. Sure wish it would rain.
