any of you guys using a laydown type bench for pickin veggies? I am looking for a plan or some tips on making one cuz my back isnt what it used to be. Thanks.

I have seen them for sale somewhere. Don't remember if it was Harbor Freight or Northern Tool. Mother Earth magazine probably has some plans for them.

Cheap easy solution! Web strung folding (cheap) lawn lounge chair/cot. Light weight, one end folded over center section can support primary Wt. and allow arm movement. Jim

Lay down carts can be seen on YouTube.

I have considered building one and powering with electric motor, perhaps even an old vehicle generator turned motor. The grain drill fill auger motors seem to operate fairly efficient for the work they do, so perhaps a motor from one of those.

I'm think of using a trailing arm with coulter to keep it steered straight without effort.

A person could also use cone guide wheels when planting and let a cart follow in their guide path.

Getting comfort while laying down would be key to using one in my opinion. Perhaps use trailer tongue jacks to raise and lower a cart for proper height for different operators. Could use a scissors jack principal too.
Mfg ones.
