I am letting all my friends on Yesterday's Tractors know, I am no longer on face book, due to the changes they keep making!
Dennis

I cancelled my Facebook account close to a year ago. It was nothing but a big PITA.

I finally decided why should any dingbat in the country with a computer have all that info.

Read the advice columnists. A large percentage of the letters concern what someone posted on Facebook.

I'm letting everone know that I am still on Facebook
despite the changes they have made. As far as
information about me there is nothing on my site
that you couldn't get out of the phone book anyway.

Your use of asterisks in the subject line gave me pause, until I opened the thread. . .

I've never had anything to do with face book, but wife signed up (reluctantly) because her class reunion organizers insisted on using it. Got a bunch of folks befreinding her, etc. She hasn't looked at it in weeks- and wonders how anybody has that much time to waste on foolishness.

people get their knicker in a knot awfully easy these days. That site is only as loose with your info as you let it be. Don't be careless and put any info up you don't have to . learn how to use the privacy settings. Just google yourself, you may be surprised how much info is already out there about you!

I don't facebook, twitter, or any other social web site for that matter. I've heard on the news of people getting fired or denied a job for what they say on those web sites. Waste of time as far as I'm concerned.
Does anyone really care to know that you just got back from the store?

No Mike, it is no spam. I put it on the topics, I post in, because I had several FB friends in the different topics.

So far I haven't dropped FB yet, but do get disgusted with all of the changes.

I use a moniker instead of my real name so privacy for me isn't much of an issue although I do still keep it set fairly tight.

I enjoy keeping up with the activities of others, most living out of town so that I wouldn't otherwise know about.

I do have a cousin that goes overboard and even uses her phone to post messages while she is at concerts, on the golf course, etc. That is a little much.

It can be a fun way to get in touch with those you've not seen nor spoken to for decades.

What changes? I have to monitor FB at work and don't notice anything. I don't reply to people that hang their laundry/whine on wall posts (except when someone strikes a chord) nor do I put much on the wall. Don't play the games and block as much as possible. Good way to find old friends and family.
Keep them tin foil hats on tho...........the more that quit just open up more bandwidth for the folks that like it....

Try this. I got this from a friend of mine. I have not got hit with the changes yet. So I can not tell if it works. I will test it with my wifes account tomarrow. As far as I can tell it only changes your newfeed back to what it was.

HOW TO GET YOUR FEED BACK TO NORMAL AGAIN. if you want your feed to go back to normal go to your account and go to notifications. At the top right is a box that says email frequency. Uncheck that box and your feed will show all the posts again. Then go to your home page and anything in the "Top Stories" click on the down arrow in the upper right and "unmark as top story" - now your newsfeed will be setup by timestamp rather than randomly picking "top stories" WORKED FOR ME! Thanks to those that posted so I could copy & paste it

I could not under stand why because e-mail would do the same thing. Well I joined and they text me all the time on FB, but did not like to do e-mail :? Any way I ended up finding old school friends I have not see in 35 years on FB. Give it a try :)
