Been cold and wet. Needed this about two months ago for crops. Finally getting some good apples from trees I planted when we got married. Showed the kids where applesauce comes from. Another one of those "I just thought you went to the store?". My big helper (5 yrs old) cranked and cranked and helped me on the mill. Came out with a good 4 pints and leftovers for this morning!!

Great stuff! Connie & I just finished 95 quarts of applesauce. Last year we did about that much and between the kids and a few friends it was all gone by the end of summer. Our kids treat our root cellar like a grocery store and we're glad to do it. Can't beat that homemade applesauce.

Good for you. We have been doing about 30 quarts a year from small apples off semi-wild trees, I do enjoy it, especially in the winter.

Thats what my wife has been doing the last couple of days. She also made some apple pie filling and froze it in pie size portions. Already has the brown sugar and spices added so all she has to do is thaw and add to the crust.

I get to pick the apples for her. Joe
