Replaced all electrical and re-wired. Rebuilt starter. Has never run better and cooler. Starts great, good power. Initally used about a quart of oil after 3 hours bush-hogging. Switched from 10w30 to plain 30 weight and added supplement engine restore. Much, much better. However some whitish exhaust smoke from muffler and occassional puffs from carb area (could be leaky muffler clamp) Worse smoke idling and low speeds. Coolant seems to remain level and fumes seem really gasy. Any ideas??

Are you sure that the smoke is whitish and not blue? You mentioned that you had been burning oil. If so, it might be something in your gas. Is there water around your exhaust? Make sure it is smoke as opposed to steam, but, if so, you can check your plugs to see if you are getting stuff in your fuel.

White/gray. Worse at idling or no load/low speeds. Bushhogged for 8-10 hours this week and under load no smoke. Fumes more gaseous/ eye burning not steam.

Are you getting a lot of trash in your sediment bowl? If you're pretty sure there is no blue in your smoke, I won't mention how on occasion I've seen rings that are slightly to worn seal up when the engine is loaded. I know you are wondering what Slightly to worn is? You know when an engine is just getting to the point where it is blowing enough smoke to notice.
