alternator on farmall M

I installed a delco 10SI alternator on my 1947 farmall M and followed all the directions found in a post on this website perfectly, and when I turn the trator on and idle it the "warning light comes on and stays on like its supposed to but it never shuts off even at full throttle and the ammeter comes close to 0 but is never on the charge side. The pully on the alternator is maybe 4" in diameter, am I still not getting enough rpm for it to charge?

I should add that it is all new wiring in all the right gauges, a junkyard alternator but I had it checked out and it tested good, a new ammeter and a new switch. It has been switched over to 12v ignition for quite awhile but I just charged the battery when it got low instead of adding an alternator.

at full throttle you should be chargeing, with a 4" pully on the alternator you would be truning it faster tha a car or truck at idle. 100s of tractors out there with 10si alternators on them working every day, something else wrong.

Did you do it like this, well you should have. and your pulley is fine, it's the same size i have on my H farmall.

you didnt put a warning light in it like the article said? is it not necessary? but other than that it is exactly the same.

he physical positions of the two wires on the plug are reversed left & right in your drawing.
