random shots of corn cribs

showed a picture of a corn crib a few weeks ago and took a few more from around the neighborhood, thought I would post them, The first one is built on the side of our old shed,the second one is on our farm too,we dont use them ,the others are from around the neighborhood and are used every season.

Thanks for sharing the pictures. That first crib is interesting, haven't seen one built onto the side of a shed like that before. I would think having the sides angled like that and on the last crib would put tremendous pressure on the framing, as well as make them kind of top heavy. Since they're still standing after all these years, it must not have too much affect on them.
 
How much crib does the first one hold attached to the barn. Doesn"t seem like it would store too much.

The cribs are slowly disappearing in our area. I remember when every farm had one.

Cool pictures, Larry. I like old barns and cribs. One on I-80 just into western Illinois is really cool. Also some cool barns in Iowa--round on both ends and straight in the middle.
