What do you do when suffering a Gout attack

Just lying here at home having suffered a bad gout attack, been completely off my feet for the past three days. Started Allopurinol about three months ago and this is the first attack Ive had since. Accidently (not thinking) a week or so back and consumed a few prawns so not sure if this started it or not.
Decided to have a look through the holiday pictures and thought you guys might want to see one or two old things I came across when visiting out west US and Canada.

nice pics, have you tried Black Cherry Concentrate (heard it helps)? drink plenty of water and stay away from the BEER. I have taken Colchicine for it before, haven't had to in quite awhile.

No shellfish, none, zip, zero, nada. Ever!! No beer, none, zip, zero, nada. Ever!! Eat raw cherries. Cherry juice is good but not filtered as if you could find that anywhere.

INDOCIN is the best for when ya get it da gout.

Pork-goose meat does it for me--have a couple friends who get it when eating chicken.

INDOCIN very quick action

As soon as I feel what I think is a gout attack, I take INDOMETHACIN, a powerful NSAID. That reduces the pain and swelling. Usually take it twice (12 hrs apart) and that does it. If it's severe, after I take the NSAID, I'll take colchisine, which I understand actually rids the system of the crystals causing the problem.

My uric acid levels (along with a lot of other health indicators) have been pretty good since I've lost almost 20 lbs. I can eat shrimp every now and then and in general I just eat everything in moderation.

Used to get severe attacks every month or so. Now, I get a mild one every 3-6 months.

I don't have any advice on the gout problem but i would like to know what kind of a twin engine dozer that is in the 3rd pic I think. Looks like a Terex??

Usually a couple or 3 doses of indomethicin takes care of me. When I get an attack. Normally my triggers are high fructose corn syrup, not enough water, and beer, except for Mexican beer. Go figure.

hayman........gout and beer??? My Uncle, a lifelong Coors salesman claimed when Coors introduced "Coors Lite", he would gitt GOUT from drinkin' Lite. Go figger. He also claimed iff'n you wanted to drink Coors Lite, just add an ICECUBE to regular Coors. I know I find "lite-beer" of enny brewer to taste weird. Every spring just before Easter, Coors would sell "Bock-Bier", a sweetish DARK beer made from the dregs of the malting process. Delicious.......yum-yum, (hick) oops!!! ......Dell

Heard orally taken vinegar helps - gonna try that the next time I have gout like attack. Was diagnosed with NOT having gout, but sure have had painful attacks in certain joints in my feet. Vinegar would sure be a cheap medication.

cumminspuller,

I think that's a Euclid tractor, twin 671 Detroits. That might be the one in MN that I saw at a show in '09. It was in a shed, they couldn't get it running due to some electrical problems. Sure would be a waste to see it sit outside and rust away.

My wifes Dr told her a long time ago to eat cherries for gout. It has worked for her ever since. When she feels it coming on she just eats some cherries and then it's better pretty fast. This has been for over 40 years.
