O/T Our American Flag

I just bought an American Flag to put on our flag pole that's mounted to our house . I opened it up and guess what ??? It's made in China . I don't want to ever hear the government tell how the flag should be honored or respected or how we should treat it or how to properly dispose of it when it's old and worn out if their going to sell out our flag making to China . Isn't anything American scared anymore ??? I'm probably over reacting , but shouldn't OUR FLAG be made in AMERICA ??? Thanks for letting me rant !!!

P.S. Yes , I know this will probably get a firestorm started and wind up getting deleted .

I thought a law had already been passed requiring ALL U.S. flags to be made right here in the U.S.A.?

You should of checked that out before you bought it, now you have to pack it up and take it back! There are flags available made in the states, but you might have to pay a little more. Also don't leave it up overnight unless you plan on illuminating it. Lots of people buy them and put them up and have no idea of proper flag etiquette.

that is probally the problem the law was made by our politician that cant see the trees for the forest they dont care about us working class people

Ya' I Know.... On a slightly differnt Twist!... on side marker lights for autos the 194 bulbs , I noticed yesterday at WmART You can get Two for about 2.50... at Sears they are USA Made.. at about 5 Bucks... They're out there... Just cost more.. Larry

I buy my flags from the American Legion. They cost a little more but they are American made and hold up quite well. Also, I return our old worn and faded flags to the local Legion for a proper disposal. They do this once or twice a year in a very honored and dignified ceremony.

Didn't the state of Minnesota pass a law that all flags sold there had to be made in the USA? All states should.

ACrider,

For your information , I do not have any attitude . I was only stating that with all of the controversy surrounding the flag burnings and the way the government says to treat it and dispose of it , then why do they let it be made overseas , if their so worried about respecting it ?

P.S. I see that your handle says guest underneath it , while it could be genuine , but I get the feeling that your to CHICKEN to post under your own name !!! Especially , since I havent't seen the ACrider name handle on here before .
