My wife fell for this scam a while back. Some scumbag now has her SS, mothers maden name, address, and bank account number(which we changed) We also signed up with Lifelock hoping this will stop the scam. I get them every now and then. Stan

My wife had bought a piece of furniture at a local store and they run the loan thru well fargo, that place was calling every week wanting to loan her more money or extend the repayment time. when i asked if there was a problem with the payment they said no,finialy told them the next time they called i was filing harsment charges agianst them. they were down rite rude every time they called.

got a weird email couple days ago. Said I'd gotten a speeding ticket in New York Oct. 14, 2011. Looked official, yellow & black colored 'cept haven't been to NY for a year. Header showed email went to dozens of people. Showed part of NY address where to send the pleadings & you were supposed to open the attachment to see the whole ticket & mail the fine to the courthouse. When I saw "attachment" I deleted the email but it leaves me wondering. Do real tickets get emailed & how did they get the email address? They can't get'em from your license plate if you didn't give it to'em. Maybe a mistaken email address? Can't be me so wasn't gonna risk a virus to find out.

The people that sent me a scam like that were stupid enough to send me a like email from three different banks at the same time.

I get calls on my cell phone every now and then telling me my credit card has been having suspicious activity and I need to push one for more information. I hang up and call the local Wells Fargo and report it. They have been having a lot of scammers hitting them that way it sounds. I don't have any accounts with Wells Fargo so I know it is a scam right off the bat.

scam, sam, if all the other business say they don't ever ask for info over the net, how can some one send you somthing that they don't have if you never gave it to them in the first place....

This is why I stopped forwarding any emails that have a religious good sounding base, cute cartoons, etc. or even emails that say send to say 10 or 20 people on your address list.

some of these have trackers so low lifes can track them, and they get a whole bunch of emails to try.. those that respond only show them you have a valid email address for them to use at their disgression.hey may even sell it to other idiots.

If you check the actual URLs behind the links in these phishing scams, you'll find that they go to bogus sites, rather than the real bank's web site. Often they are made to look legit, for example "www.wellsfargo.somecrookinrussia.com". (Do NOT click on the links in a suspicious email. Either mouse over the link and check to URL at the bottom of your browser window, or examine the html source.)

I normally just delete unknown , unwanted e-mail, or right click it, click properties and check return path. If I don't recognize it or don't trust it then just delete it unopened.
