Ford NAA Backhoe

I recently acquired a small Massey Ferguson 1017 3 pt backhoe attachment. I think it will hook up to my Ford NAA/Jubilee fine but does anybody have any ideas on how or if it can be plumbed in to the hydraulics or if they are capable of operating it. I think there were backhoes that these tractors operated but I am not sure. I know they were capable of front end loaders so that is what makes me wonder if it is possible.

People have hoes on 8Ns so why not. I don't think the tractor hydraulics will do the job but a front mount or PTO pump should do the trick.

I thought about a pto mounted pump but it would need an external reservoir. Any ideas how the ones you mentioned on 8n's are set up?

Not to take anything away from people on this sight, you may want to ask the ford people. They might know. A person there recently added a hoe to his ford. George

My neighbors little 3 point backhoe has a pto pump. It has a little gear speed up, box on the pump. Has about a 5 gallon reservoir on the side. We usted to have a small backhoe also. You can screw a hose into the valve around the 3 point lever. Then plumb the return back into where you fill the hyd up. Then chain or make a bracket to keep your 3 point arms from coming up. Then move your 3 point hyd lever to the top. It will work the back-hoe but not very fast. I think 3 gal to minute. Needs at least 10 gal after you learn to use it. But even a slow one is faster than a shovel. My son-in-law dug in his septic tank and system, water lines etc, with ours on a 4200 JD. Lives close to a major city, with no permits. He lives 1000 ft from the road. Just takes time.but what's time to a hog?

the onboard pumps barely have enuff flow for the 3 point...you'll need a front pump or a pto pump if you want any chance of digging a hole.
