bought one at carquest for $155.00 did not put it in yet, looked online and ebay can get one for $45.00 what is the difference or am I just getting ripped off from carquest?

That is quite a price discrepancy, but I'd be a bit cautious on that one from ebay. Also, if you put it in and it doesn't work, or fails within a short period of time, Carquest is easy to find. That seller on ebay?

If you check the price at NAPA it could well be in line with the price you paid. Check with Rock as suggested. New or used? Make that choice based on how difficult it is to replace the motor.

I'll bet they came from the same place. I buy a lot of car parts on ebay. Fuel pumps, wheel hubs with bearimgs ect. Never had problems with one yet.

Keep looking you probably will find a cheeper one. I bought a window motor off ebay and it worked great. Like someone else said the fan motor probaboy came from the same place. china. Stan

It's usually a relay; where ever u buy make sure u can return it. mine went out and mechanic works on lots of them; said he'd never put in a blower motor; that it's been the relay every time!

Probably comes with the fan attached for that price. I go to a good junkyard and have had amazing luck with used parts. My SIL is an Audi mechanic. Talk about a mark up. He gets my electric fuel pumps for half that NAPA wants.

I bought two new blower motors recently.

The motor for the 98 Grand Caravan was $35.

The motor for the 2005 Grand Caravan was $39 (just bought it two weeks ago).

Sounds like you're getting ripped off unless you've got something real special.

I would back away slowly from the eBay part. eBay parts are usually extremely cheap knock-offs of knock-off parts. Although I must confess, I don't mind if my customers bring them to me to install, because if it craps, I get paid again. If I supply the the part, I'm on the hook. Something to think about. I currently have a customer with a Blazer that won't start right due to an eBay pump and one with a fuel gauge that won't work due to an eBay tank module. Both parts were supplied by the customer. Oh, the parts are under warranty, true, but the labor and shipping is not. Trust me, you are way better off buying local.

You did not mention a year for your Caravan, but there are a few years the dash may have to be removed to replace the motor. If yours is one of those, I would let the installer supply the part, that way you don't have to pay again if it fails.

RE: "there are a few years the dash may have to be removed to replace the motor. If yours is one of those, I would let the installer supply the part"

In my case that installer would be me. Taking out the dash in a Grand Caravan with HVAC is time consuming but not all that difficult.

Some parts on Ebay are same make and part # as many name-brand stores sell. When I see the lowest price for a part on Ebay, I figure it's going to be available elsewhere cheaper and it just about always is. That's why the people on Ebay are making money on them.

9 out of 10 times Rock Auto beats everybody. And - Rock also sells a lot of OEM parts which you don't find at NAPA or Advance.

Who is going to warranty it when it fails and how many hoops do you have to jump through . what year is it ? They can be fun . 2001 has one bolt right in back that is wedged against floor mat. Hard to get but don't need to pull housing. Also ,,if your going through blower resistors/high blower speed only ,,,bite the bullet and replace blower motor .
