Just played Santa

Got a little boy 3yrs old and a little princess nearly 2. Got them to sleep and just laid out their presents: a bike for the the boy and a doll for the girl. Brought back a lot of great memories for me. We had a big dinner of ham, cornbread, sweet taters, mac and cheese and collard greens with my side of the family. Wife and I were just talking about how good the year has been to us and how we are able to provide for our children, sometimes even spoil them. There"s alot of little kids in this country that will wake up to Christmas with no presents and maybe no food. Christmas isnt about presents but it sure lights up a soul to see a kid happy. Parent"s are probably worthless but kids cant help the situation they are placed in. If you are in to it, think about those less fortunate and say a little prayer. I know a couple people hurting that I"m going to take some venison and sausage to tommorrow. Merry Christmas from the South and thanks for all y"alls help over the years!

I agree with you about "alot" of kids not getting much etc. We are waiting for our two youngest to fall back asleep so we can play santa too. Just finished watching "Its a Wonderful Life" as we are waiting. We had a wonderful day at the inlaws eating, talking, presents and playing. The ride home involved a nice nap for everyone. So now you see why we are waiting-LOL. Money may be tighter for us this year but we always seem to manage to spoil our 4 children for Christmas. It is all about them for us! MERRY CHRISTMAS to ALL-SHON

The RFG leader for our sons unit (that is now in Kuwait) says there are some soldiers there that do not have any family, so would like someone to adopt them. Our city senior citizen center has adopted two and a veteran here has adopted one for himself. The only rule is you have to send the soldier a package every four to six weeks while they are in Kuwait.

you are so right! This Christmas we are going to serve dinner at a big church in the town of somerville nj The organization called SHIP feeds the homeless and needey there,my dauughter wife and I are going to help serve

(quoted from post at 04:46:47 12/25/11) A little dangerous for everyone to take a nap on the way home isn"t it? Merry Christmas

You noticed that too.....was kinda wondering....

We raised 7 on Military pay. The wife and I did without things like a nice car or boat so that we could give the kids good Christmas's.....and it was well worth it! Most years on post they had a Santa's work shop were we volunteered and would repair toys that had been given for soldiers families who were not as careful with money or had an emergency during the year. Now we buy stuff and put it in the toys for tots drop offs.

Only one son home this year....but we saw two grand daughters yesterday and will all get together in Feb for a family Christmas.

Merry Christmas!!!!

Rick
