we have one daughter ,she is 19 ,mom picked out a laptop for her for college and at her college there is a big hill all the kids go sleigh riding on so we got her a snow board sled. When she was little we had to sneak the gifts under the tree around 2 am then she would be waking us up at 5 am to open up everything. This morning my wife and I are excited and there is no sign that my daughter is going to wake up soon,.

same here the boys used to be up at 6 or so.Now mom and i have been up since 6 and still waiting for the 18 year old to wake up.The other a 22 year old moved out and should be here in 1 hour to open presents. But at least they are still here for christmas.

And it will continue to change as time passes. Our oldest is married with 2 children and another on the way and lives 500+ miles away. Our youngest is 300+ miles away, just graduated college a week ago. No one here this year but the wife and I, and she's still asleep at 7:30. BUT....I'm not complaining one bit...the quiet is actually very nice!
Merry Christmas!!!

Things are pretty much the same here as they've been for the past 18 or so years. 8:30 AM and both kids (22 and 24) still upstairs sleeping, wifes living 9 miles away now with her mother, so it's just me and the dog this morning. Come to think of it the kids never were fireballs about getting out of bed even on Christmas.

Merry Christmas to you and your family Larry.

Daughters are very precious and special.

My youngest daughter, Jamie who is 31, will be visiting with us later today.

First time in 20 years that she has been with us on Christmas.

Yes, things have changed and I'm excited to see her.

Make sure you keep the reciept cause that laptop is deductible. Wifes semester last year jumped my return up 2500 bucks. Gonna keep her at that college til I retire!

I remember those day's. My oldest girl alway's managed to wake up 10 minutes after Santa came & we went to bed. That girl could play possum better than any opossum on Christmass eve. Kind of rough then but I cherish the memories.

We always had Christmas fairly early on Christmas morning- Now our kids have theirs, at their homes, with their kids. But everybody coming this afternoon for dinner and presents at Grandma and Grandpa's place.

Sons are about 2 miles from us, but daughter about 80 miles. She works for Alaska Airlines, managed to finagle Christmas off (she subs for others, said she "called in some markers").

I'm thankful that we've never had the "drama" of some families- visitation, jealousy, etc. No one in my family has ever divorced, and we all get along.

I'm here in big D, opposite end where the Howell's are, daughter > 28 is working today cuz it is holiday pay n son is in Asia teaching school, so just me n the wife n the two dogs I am 61.. pretty quite here and I like it, Merry Christmas to all of you .

~ Will, here just N. of big D in Tex.

For the first time in memory we did not celebrate on Christmas Eve. My daughter worked an overnight 12 hour shift. She will be here this afternoon along with a family who have adopted us as grandparents to their three wonderful kids. We will open presents and snack on lots of good things and light a fire in the fireplace. And pop a magnum of champagne.
