Hey folks,
I'll take tractor pics with it....Anyway, got some good suggestions from some folks before but the cameras weren't available here at decent prices....
Anyway, was just in the PX and they are throwing coolpix 3100, 4100, and 6100 at you..... Any of you have either and are happy with it?

Thanks, Dave

Really like my Coolpix L18. That is until we got our
new Samsung smart phone. Its cam is equally good and
we always have a cell phone handy.
Not a knock against the Nikon at all just against
cameras in general. Having one handy to shoot with
is the most important thing in photography!

I've gone thru two or three of them, they seem to hold up pretty good for a shop camera. Every one that failed was my fault, either something got dropped on them or they were crushed in my pocket.. Finally picked up a hard case to stick my last one in and it has lasted pretty darn well.

Always carry some spare batteries and get a nice large capacity SD card...

I just looked at them again, along with about 20 other brands of similiar style..... All have to be used with the preview screen and can't just look thru a peephole and snap the picture... Half of them had to be operated with a touchscreen also.... Technology has passed me by..... Ain't nuttin simple no more :shock:

Don't know about those particular models, but if it uses AA batteries (some Coolpix used AA, some used a lithium battery) it's a good serviceable camera. We've had 3 so far. First one Mrs Fred lost somewhere, second one I dropped on the pavement (I still use it, but I have it taped together with Scotch tape) and third one is Mrs Fred's camera (to replace the one I dropped).

I've got a Nikon CoolPix S570, use a Lithium battery, Takes great pictures and fits in the pocket.

There basically all the same anymore,made in japan or china,kodac is broke.All do the same thing for less than a hundred bucks.

(quoted from post at 19:08:11 01/21/12) What price are they asking, for comparison purposes.?? USD would be an easy conversion.

3100= $59, 4100= $79, 6100=$109, and 9100= $189..........
