spring is almost here folks,,, things'll start looking up...

I sure hope some of ya'll get to lighten up a little with the longer days coming...

My comments made about WV or hillbillies are just in fun and not meant as a personal insult to anyone.Sure a lot of WV folks (or people from any state for that matter) jab a little at the closest joining state.... Most normal folks take it in stride and just give a little back, some act offended and make it personal... Then you get the real heroes that like to jump on the bandwagon after it gets rolling a little.. And the anonymous guests that are extra brave...... Free country and folks can be however we want tho.....
Anyway, Oldmax and the rest of you from WV, if you really believe that I have a hateful intent with the jabs and you are offended, I sincerely apologize and will work on it a little (don't expect a complete recovery tho :roll: )
If I really had a low opinion of you folks, I'd have to have the same of MOM and that ain't gonna happen... Us kids are only Hillbillies on a technicality cause the nearest docs to pull us out were in WV and we got right back across the river...
Except the oldest brother, he had to stay a couple weeks before coming home... He ain't never been quite right :shock:

Again, for the good folks that were truly offended, I'm sorry...... For the loudmouths that wanna getem in a wad and act tuff & attack, keep it comin... When you're on me, you're leavin someone else alone.....

My Grandpa used to say that on February 2nd, Ground Hog Day, you should have half your wood, and half your hay left. So I would say spring isn't almost here. My 2 cents.

It may be on the way over there Dave and I suppose its "on the way" every where. Still I'm a little nervous to verbalize that statement concerning my own little neck of the woods lessen I should jinks things. True so far this winter has been extremly mild here in Alberta compared to the average and espesialy compared to what we had last year. Even right now it's above avg again after about a week of winter. Still it could change over night and it ain't over yet. Technically a guy wouldn't be wrong to say that Christmas is coming too, but??? it ain't here yet either. Rocko.

Let me tell you why I started a fight with Dave2. I was raised to stand up for my family, rights and country. What I posted about Dave didn't come from one post he had made but from several over the years. I threw the first punch and it might have been a little below the belt and Dave threw the secomd one. Once I understood his position on West Virginia the fight was over. But there were two or three that had to stick their noses in and stir things up again. I guess that I am like Dave that I will not back down and will fight till the end. If Dave had been my next door neighbor I would have went over and whipped him or he would have whipped me but it would have got settled. Some say I am thin shinned but hicks, rednecks don't have the same meaning the way I was raised, the same way jap, gook or kraut means to other people. As I said before I don't mind being called a hillbilly or ridge runner, and I am proud to be an Appalachian America.
Next time me and Dave get in a fight let us fight. DH

Dave,No harm here,I never get offendend by the word REDNECK,besaues I know the correct meaning,People need to google it.Most WVians are good hard working,God fearing people,that will fight for what they beleive in.WV does have a false repitation.Our past Governor tried his best to put a stop to this.As for hicks I live with in a hour from DC and Baltimore,and our way of life is pertty hecktick,not to mention the cost of living.I feel that we as people should live the best life we can and treat others the same as we would like to be treated

Gotta have a thick skin around here recently. You can call me anything you want as long as it isn't late for dinner. I'll answer to hick, redneck, hillbilly, or whatever. Jes don't call me a city slicker or something really derogatory like light in the loafers.

I'm from Maryland. We ain't Yankees, and barely rebs. But I still pull my britches on one leg at a time, and get a burned neck in the sun. After a hot day the beer is still cold, and anything to ease the everyday load is welcome. Jabs included. I'd rather grin at my friends picking on me and throw one right back than get upset at nothing other than a crack that really means nothing more than someone realizes I'm still here and it's time to play.

So ease up some, and enjoy the fireworks with a smile....

Used to drink RC now and then cause it's usually all that was left in the machine in front of Mason's store in Tuppers Plains after everyone took the good stuff..... Then a married in uncle started working at the coke plant in Parkersburg... Offered him an RC one day when they were at the house... Said he only drank coke products and wouldn't visit us anymore if we were gonna drink the competition's product (he was from WV BTW)..... From then on, we always kept RC at the house and I got sick of it.... weather is unbelieveable..... I could do with 65 about now........
