IH 276 Glow plug problem

The orginal glow plug wires (Connecting all 4 glow plugs) are worn out!
Can I rewire the glow plugs another way?
If one is blown...will the rest work?

thanks

glen

Two (and maybe more) of my tractors have glow plugs. If the wires to the them burned out I would replace them with the same or heavier, especially the connectors. If one burns out the others should work provided the wires are intact.

Assuming you've got the BD144 British engine with the four .9 volt plugs hooked in series . . .

you can convert to dual-coil Bosch plugs that run on 12 volts instead of 9/10ths of a volt. Then you can hook in parallel instead of series and they'll heat up in 10 seconds.
