Iam a very active FFA member at my school and have the chance to restore a Ford 8n. I was wondering if anybody has heard of this contest or participated in it before? My advisor has never done it and not really sure how it works, ive done some online research but was hoping somebody may know more on the topic then what me.

All information welcome

I looked into it when i was in high school but we never got to participate in the contest. I can't tell you a whole lot about it since its been a few years since I looked at it.

I started doing my first tractor in 1997.. I was a sophmore in high school back then.. Never did get the tractor completed for the competition.. Got it running and put it back together, and started farming with it a year after graduation.

It'll be done getting painted this spring finally.

I have a good, Farmall H, with some options, that I would let one restore, in South West Ohio, but none around here seem interested, has this stopped being done all over? When I was a kid, I did bunches of them for my FFA Chapter, but the kids I have talked to here in Brown County Ohio, just don"t seem interested. Sign of the times I guess.

email is open

I was goin to do the one thru Chevron Delo when I restored my A but just missed the deadline and then never filled out the paper work. Really REALLY kicking myself in the back side for not atleast trying it as I have won several grants through FFA (can write okay-ish) and knew what I was doing to the tractor. Have talked to the winners at National Convention everytime I went.

I recently restored a allis chalmers c in 2010 entered it into some shows. first thing you do is go to the websites where ever you planning on entering it at.the website should tell you what you need know like what you can & cant do what you should have and shouldnt have..but, be sure and take photos from the beinning till the end..you will also need a binder to keep those photos in order you will have to describe underneath the photos what you are doing in the photo.you will also need a cost sheet to show how much money you have spent on restoring it. alot of other things will also need to go in there too.

when your rebuilding it be sure and restore it like it was on the show room floor of the factory cause they will nit pick it till they cant no more at least in texas they do.

Hi, when my brother and I were in highschool we entered a John Deere 70 Diesel Standard in the Chevron Delo tractor restoration competition. It was fun to do. You have to make sure you take lots of pictures and a log of what you do each day and how many hours you spend on it. We also talked to Titan tires and if you are in the Chevron Delo competition they will give you a set of tires for free, which was a great deal for us. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
