So Im lookin at a truck 97 Ford 250 that has both gas and propane tanks. They say it can run on either.. Sooooooooo.. How does this work do I even want a truck like that.. And could I remove the propane from it..
thanks

Nebraska truck.. but doesnt show rust on the body anywhere.. Believe it was used by an elderly to pull camper. So it may have started in nebraska and ended up in ariz. or flor. who knows..

When I switched my 77 GMC pickup over to dual fuel propane/gas there was a noticeable power loss. So on the recommendation of a fellow who once had an automotive propane service business, I switched it to straight propane. It got its power back and pulled the 24 ft 5th wheel as good as ever.

It takes a bit more cranking on the first start of the day but after that it"s instant.

What do you mean, how does this work?

It works however the owner set it up. If he set it up "right" there's a switch to flip in the cab. However, anything is possible. You may need to get out of the truck and crawl under the hood to move hoses and turn valves for all we know.

The problem is the compression requirements for propane are very different from gas. Propane won't produce as much power in an engine that can also run gasoline. Propane works better with higher compression.

If you have a liquid withdrawal valve on your LP tank at home, can save a dollar a gallon. If you don't render unto Caesar what is Caesar's. Vic
