Hey, I asked local and got that look. Any chance you can point me to a Stateside source (online would be great)?

Thanks, Dave

dont see why it would make a difference using a heat tape inside or out. like to know the difference if I'm wrong. rocko.

Dave,

I"ve used this at our place for our new well set up (water is to top of well, so danger of freezing as frost here can go to 6 ft - Manitoba, Canada). It uses compression fittings to get the pipe into the water line, it works! Not cheep though, I bought direct from the company.

Back in the 1970's a friend installed nipple waters(that's what they were listed as it the catalogs)for hogs. the pipe came up from the ground inside 6" PVC pipe with insulation and and you shoved a rubber-covered heat tape into the pipe. Not sure how far into the ground the heat tape went into the ground but the water came up the pipe around the heat tape. Armand
