Mc Cormick Deering Cream Separator

My dad stopped using his cream separator in about 1958 and it had been in storage since that time. The stainless steel parts had been cleaned but not reassembled. The discs were mixed and I had to assemble the entire spindle. it has several pounds of stainless steel that may be of some value as salvage but hopefully it can be put in a museum somewhere,
He bought it in the late 40's and is a crank model. The electric motor attachment was more money and he thought he could do a lot of cranking for the difference. my dad paid $100 but it was sold as a clearance item as cream separators were not selling well by that time.i think the electric model was about $60 more.

It would be really neat to see a photo of it.

We have one as part of landscaping by my husband's shop - but I am unsure what kind it is.

Those things are collectible. I've seen them sell at auctions for several hundred dollars. Please do not scrap it out.

I wish you were near here. The working farm museum I work at is looking for a seperator, and give you a letter for a tax write-off.
We are always looking for old farm related tools.

I have a deLaval cream seperator in my living room along with many other dairy items, please don't scrap it. We were dairy farmers in Ct. and Fla.

I've got 3 McCormick separators in my collection. Mine are cream and have a bullet style motor on them, models 2-S, 3-S and 4-S. My stainless ones have the model stamped into the spout cap that sits on top of the diffuser drum. I used to use the 3-S all the time but time is something I've been short on lately. They are worth from $75-400, depending on location and condition. Scrap it and it's gone forever, save it and future generations can learn from it.

Used one of those til a few yrs ago and ot went to a museum. If my old memory is cprrect I beleive seperator dics are mumbered so they can be lined up right. gitrib
