OMC Mustang 880 injecter pump

Ok, to all you deisel guys. My dad is working on an OMC Mustang 880 loader, and is having trouble with the fuel system. As I understand it, he started with a leaking cover (on an injector or somewhere on the pump, I think). He made a gasket, and the leak is gone. But now it won't run. As I understand it, he is now trying to bleed the system, with next to no luck. When I was talking to him a minute ago, it would run on ether, but died, clearly not getting fuel. Any input? (ps, I'm not sure if this is the best form page)

Maybe he could pressurize the system by putting diesel fuel in a garden sprayer hook into the line.

Has he crack the line nuts at the injectors? Also, make sure there is fuel coming out the return fitting as well.

Not sure about the garden sprayer???

Need more info, what engine or better yet what injection pump is on machine?

that machine come with Perkins engine and most liky a Lukeus ( spelling) inj pump
