Mounting the mower while snowblower still on?

Wonder if I can put the mower on the JD214 while snowblower is still on, cause I don't want to trigger a snow storm here in NE Iowa because I carelessly took the blower off, but the grass may get ahead of me. Leo

I am in East central Iowa, was thinking the same thing about taking blade off tractor. I have to believe it will snow between now and April 1st.

Here the Deal: If you were to leave the blower on
and put on the mower: you can mow it and put it in a wind row at the same time: saving you some time on wind rowing it; SO WHO CARES CARES HOW
YOU MOW: YOU ARE SAVING YOUR SELF SOME TIME and that is not all that bad.BY the way I like that IDEA.THE BOYS IN THE WHITE JACKETS WILL THINK YOU ARE JUST ONE OF THE GOOD OLD BOYS.HAVE A GREAT DAY

Put the 6' snowblower on the tractor away. Got the 6' Tiller on the tractor and tilled the garden for the first time. Did that within the past week, so for so good. Looks like we may get some rain early next week. East Central SD.

yea,..i believe everyone will be lucky if they don't see some more snow and lots of frost,..last frost date here in central ohio is may 20....

David, Marilyn and I are going to Bettendorf to see my sis and BIL on the weekend of the 24th. It WILL snow, I can just feel it. Whenever they come up here to NWIA it snows and if we go there anytime between November and April we end up driving in snow. Jim

That's why you need at least one other tractor. One tractor per attachment is best.

You can have the deck and thrower attached at the same time because they use different sheaves on the PTO and attach to the lift system differently. You can probably lock the thrower in the raised positioin but you don't want that much weight on the front of your tractor while you are mowing. Turning would be clumsy and heavy, too.

I don't have the blower hooked on but I didn't put it away either. Still got the chains on one tractor. Its 71 degrees in mid Mi.but you never know.

Better hold off. I have a basement scheduled to be dug the 2nd of April. I can make it rain or snow most anytime I dig one. Was going to do it next week but thought better of it.

The front mule is different so you can't hook them both up at the same time. I had a guy try all day once to do it in the late spring. He was not a happy camper. LOL

I have an extra mower you can borrow if you need to for the first and maybe mowing. Just let me know when you get town.

I'll be mowing within week here too. Put the snow blower in the shed and drug out the push mower, thinking about doing an engine swap on it yet. I cut down 3 trees today, cleaned up the brush from that and the pruning a couple fruit trees, burnt the brush pile, sprayed the fruit trees, and got a touch of sun burn today.

Not too shabby for Mar. 16th.

Dad and I are talking about what needs to be planted where, and the possibilty that we'll be planting oats pretty quick the way it's going.

I never even put the snow blower or the blade on the tractor this year. I put the log splitter on to clean up a couple of dead Ash trees and never took it off.

I dug out the blower and blade so I could get to them easy, but the ground didn't stay frozen long enough to get all the wood split, so I never took the splitter off.

I'm sure we'll get more snow, but I don't think it's going to be deep enough to have to move it anymore....... famous last words.
