JD 3point will not go down

I have a friend in Pleasant Hill MO that has a JD 3506??? Says he has the brush hog on the tractor but it will not go down - has been setting like this since fall - he wants to know if someone in the area knows/works on these. My email is open is you want to send to me I can forward to him.

A long time ago back when I was a Moline mechanic and I didn't even know how to spell one. We got a call about the same, This was a M5 Moline and the 7 ft Bush Hog wouldn't go down or up. Moline's are notorious for the 3 point leaking down. I got out there and put a pressure gauge on the hyd systen. and had 1800 psi when the lever was pulled up. and Zero when the lever was pushed down. the cutter would go up and down about a inch. Bottom line the pto shaft was twisted up inside the cover which was steel then and you couldn't see it. Had to cut the shaft off with a torch.

I didn't find a model 3506 listed in the JD parts but I'll bet it either the "rate of drop screw" that's tightened to tight or a fault/dirty rock shaft control valve that the 5000 series JD utility tractors are plagued with.
