i have a honda gx 160 engine on my compressor that i use for air at tractor pulls that won't start. no spark, the plug is good and it is full of oil and was stored in a dry space. ran when i put it away last nov. anybody have any ideas? thanks in advance, chuck

The carb is probably gunked up with old gas....you need to unscrew the two outlets at the bottom of the bowl and let out "gunk"....and refill the gas tank with fresh gas....good luck!!!!.

Low oil pressure shut off switch is probably bad. Mine did the same thing 3 years ago. By passed the switch and it has ran fine ever since. Just remember to check the oil.

I had the same no spark problem, thought it was bad coil, turns out it was the spk plug wire opened up at the end that goes on the plug??

hey guys, thanks for all the help, unplugged the oil and switch wires and plugged them back in and it fired right up. thanks again, chuck

Try a new plug first. Sometimes the end goes bad on the plug wire as well... and that is replaceable.
Low oil shutdowns are the other obvious culprit. IIRC, simply removing the wire from the shutdown switch is sufficient to break the connection as it works on a grounding principle when there is no oil.
Beyond that... the ignition module could be bad or the shutoff switch. Just have to chase it out with a meter and see where the connections go bad.
