Good thing they got her.
In my area a regular city worker (worked the treasurers office)pocketed $1,600 in cash when a resident came into pay their taxes....In cash. (The $1,600 came up missing) And this woman thought she could get away with it.
A quick new rule was made up....."the treasurers office will no longer accept cash payments"

They mentioned the horse farm...I knew exactly which one. Always wondered how they found such a dumb banker to build that place...turns out the City if Dixon built it.

Just needs one more coat of polyurethane. Savoring the project...thats why its taking so long haha! Have 2 coats of poly already on top of Varathane Golden Pecan oil stain. Looks fantastic.

Wonder how her husband felt about the balls? One of the stories that came out of my time in Tennessee, one night one of our trucks is coming in, that last raw material run of the day and he notices a car parked on the bridge in front of the plant. He sees a pair of ladies' shoes sitting on the trunk of the car, feeling is that's suspicious he calls the sheriff. They arrive on scene and run the plate, the R.O. is a lady that was the bookkeeper at the local packinghouse before it closed. They break into the car and find a suicide note. Seems she had embezzled a substantial amount of money from the packing house and was feeling guilty with the business closing and a lot of folks losing their jobs. She claimed all the money she had left was in the trunk of the car, they found about 30K. She jumped off the bridge, they figure she broke both legs when she landed, eventually she drowned as she floated down the river. If an employee can steal that much money and no one notices I have to wonder about their cash controls. Seems some elected officials were not performing their duties with any diligence.

She took 33.2 mil that they know about, she'll pay a $10,000 fine and that should bout cover it. If not, lota crooks will go down with her.

Why are women so apt to embezzle money all the time? They can't seem to stop themselves from stealing when they get put in charge of money. Every time I hear about somebody embezzling a large amount of money it's almost ALWAYS a woman. I guess they should only hire men to handle money. I know if I needed to hire somebody to handle large amounts of cash it sure wouldn't be a woman.

She stole the $3.2 million since last fall, and over $30 million in the last 6 years. That seems like it would be more than the entire budget of a 17,000 population town- How on earth was there that much money available to steal?

She was switching it into a capital expenditures account that The Hon. Mayor Tool didn't even know existed- then looting that account.

Who believes $5million/year can disappear from a relatively small town's budget without others being involved and/or paid off. I'll bet you this thing will make Dixon really stink when it is over with. Apparently the new mayor wasn't in on the inner circle and screwed it up. I guess the horse farm got a $1700.00 donation from every man woman and child in Dixon.
