A while back I posted about my wife of 45 yrs with lung cancer that spread. today the Dr said its terminal. maybe 6 months left. Hard times here

That is rough.

My FIL was told he had less than 1 year in Dec. 2005. He died Oct. 2006. (bladder cancer)
Be sure to make the remaining time count. And like Jesus says, "be ready"

Sorry, may God bless you and your family, that news about ones wife or children has to be the worst pain there is.

But 2 Drs said we should call Hospice. The pain has been hard for me to see. Hospice can help on that

Persue every opportunity for pain relief. Get past any drug inhibitions (even MJ) it has provided relief. Quality of life is the main idea at this point. May she be provided with a path that carries the least burden. Jim

Make sure you do. We had a woman living with us who died right here in our living room,of ALS. They kept her comfortable so she passed in peace and comfort. My wife's a nurse, and they provided her with everything she needed for Shirley.

Our prayers are with you and your wife.
We all pray the doctors are wrong; it does happen!
I agree with Janicholson, the pain medications will improve her quality of life.
I lost a brother to colorectal cancer a few years ago. The heavy duty medications made his life much more bearable. Take the time to talk with her as much as possible during this time and make notes of what she says. By the same token, try to get her talking about all the past good times you"ve had; that"s good for both of you!

Went through the same ordeal two years ago. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know it is rough, but with HIS help you can make it.

Our prayers go out to her and to you and your family. Terrible decease to work through. Lost our daughter with cancer. Terrible times with no hope, but what ever the Savior decides will be the best. Keep the faith . Regards LOU & Family.

I'm very sorry to know of this....May God grant you and all your family the strength to see you through this saddest of sad times. Do everything to keep your wife as comfortable as possible no matter what it costs. I will pray for you all.

Crushing news,my sadness for you is heartfelt, stay strong for her, and don't be afraid to cry it out when necessary.

So sorry for the sad news. You and your wife are in our prayers. The Good lord will get you through this storm.

Even though God's plan is sometimes hard to live with, it is still his plan and he knows what is best for you both. He has a plan for you after her passing as well.

BSpauld, am sorry for you and your wife, will pray that God provides peace, comfort and minimal suffering. Help her get the meds she needs, spend time talking about the good ol days, any time you need to talk, get on here, we do care, Mark

B,
Thank you for opening up to us. Please stay faithful to the Lord. This world is not our home. I have three friends who are in a similar boat. We were not created to die. SOON all this will all be over.

You know, I really don't know anything about the "Cancer Treatment Centers Of America" other than the commercials that I have seen on TV or the one that I just woke up to on the alarm clock radio, but maybe? I'm not trying to offer false hope or anything, but their commercials suggest thet they offer treatments that in some cases at least, have been helpful when patients have been given such bad news as your wife and yourself. Have you seen or heard the commercials that I'm talking about? Maybe? Just maybe?

In case the link mess' up... http://www.cancercenter.com/

Best of luck, sincerely

Mark

Had a neighbor that got a "Terminal" diagnosis-
neighborhood held a fundraiser so he could go to
Mexico, and sit in a Radium mine.."And be Cured"
it gives people hope, but as P.T. Barnum said,
"Theres a sucker born every minute" ! I feel that
way about those TV ads for a "Cancer Center"
And who can afford it? ? My insurance pays for
Mayo clinic..but won't pay for a "Raise your hopes" cancer center!
