OT:electric brake controller

Has purchased an electric brake controller in the past 6 months or so and what brand did you get? It seems that there are so many new models out there, that's why I'm not interested in the old stuff. I have an old Tekonsha and it's been acting a little strange lately. Been thinking of buying a Tekonsha Primus IQ TE90160. Like the idea it's self leveling, has a digital readout instead of the LED, has a life time guarantee, and only costs around $80. I only have 2 axles, so I don't need the bigger ones.

Does anyone have an opinion on this model? I like the digital readout because I pull 2 different trailers and the loads very a lot. Smoked the tires on one trailer today. Just dumped the load and forgot to reset the brakes. With an LED, resetting brake level is a guessing game, either too much brakes or not enough. Just have to try and readjust.

thanks
George

The Primus is an updated version of the Prodigy, which I have used on both my Ranger and F150 for about 5 years and really liked them. When I replaced my Ranger a couple months ago i bought a Primus for it, due to space, and while I have only used it a couple times I was very happy with it. Proportional braking, self leveling, lifetime warranty, etc.

I got a MAX BRAKE last year and it works great emty or loaded I dont change the setting the best brake control I ever had very smooth stoping the truck and trailer work together.
