My son, Michael graduated from Ferris State University with a Bachelor"s in Computer Network and Systems, today. Has been a long haul, but he finally got "er done. Son says of thirty or fourty, only a few graduate with this degree - this year only 11. My daughter (Dr. in Pharmacy,) and I am also graduates of Ferris (and Central Michigan University). Other daughter is a graduate of Central Michigan University, and nnalert State. Both were in attendance, along with my wife - proud Mama - (graduate Central Michigan, Montcalm Commuity College.) - All were in attendance for the graduation service.
Finally got all my family through the higher eduaction gauntlet. :D

Sure is--congrats. I remember the feeling of relief when the last one graduated from college---right in my hip pocket! Two went on to get masters and the third is a CPA, but they did that on their own.

And higher ed is getting to be a real "gauntlet". Just read that Washington State U. tuition is about $11,000 next year- it was 400 bucks when I went in 1966. If there was any such thing as student loans then, I didn't know about them. I could generally make enough in the summer to get through the year, with a little beer money. . . ahem, living expenses. . . from my folks.

And I had 3 job offers when I got done- never did have to move back in with my folks.

Older ones do - Pharmacist, and school Social Worker... I was a teacher, wife had degree in education, and went back to become an RN.
Son will be looking, meanwhile has ongoing job with technology and computer department at local community college.

My son graduated with honers yesterday with a Bachelor's in nursing.
Worked his last year full time in a large hospital and they have asked him to stay.
I have never been so proud. Mark

Wife has a B.S from nnalert, I a B.S. From Michigan State, #1 daughter is a Junior at Western Michigan. Question is what in the heck are we doing in Wisconsin? First year of Western Michigan Tuition (with the nice scholarship she got) cost more than my entire degree at MSU.

Sounds like you have someone you can call when the computer messes up LOL. Congratulations to you and your whole family for 'sticking it out' and making it through college with a degree. That alone tells me you have a goal oriented family. You have a right to be proud. Jim
