Got all expense 8 day paid [flight, motel, rental car]to Vegas from Son for Me and the Mother. I can just see us to old country bumpkins in Vegas, not knowing which way is up. We have never been in a BIG BIRD,wife has never been in the air unless damn mad at me.hhaha. Looking forward to 6/1/12.

Good for you... Enjoy...... We don't get to go on vacation together unless a long weekend or overnighter....

Boss is sending me on Thursday for 9 days in Croatia.... She'll take a couple weekenders then a week or so in September to a beach somewhere...... Not much fun more than a couple days alone tho.....
Enjoy yours......

First employee we had, sent him and his wife on a 4 day round trip to Vegas. First time they had ever flown. He was tight, they walk everywhere they went. Wore blisters on his feet the first day. Didn't get to far from there hotel the rest of the trip.

We went to Florida once and I went to sleep on the beech the first day.... Was in pretty nasst shape the rest of the trip... Big blisters all over except where the trunks were.....

If it were me I'd take the rental car and drive out in the country each day. Even over into CA, I bet there is a lot to see in 150 radius of Vegas

Make sure you go up to Fremont Street and go to the Golden Gate restaurant. This is an after dark light show and the Golden Gate was one of the best steaks I ever had(cheap too). I kinda liked Sam s Town(east of the strip) The race track is about 6 miles north of town on the right. Do get off of the strip and see the town, no grass and a lot of sand.

Flying is no fun these days with all the security regulations. Don't pack suit cases over 40 lbs and get to the airport a couple of hours prior to your departure. If you need anything you are not sure will not get through security don't take it and buy what you need when you get there.

Get a rental car. If you like casinos and shows, you won"t need one. Otherwise rent one and drive to the Hoover dam, grand canyon. There"s a lot to see and do and just not all gambling.

Ditto the recommendation to get a rental car and do some driving. Hoover Dam and the new bridge over it are must-sees. Red Rock Canyon is also worth a visit. Death Valley and Zion National Park are both within driving distance as well, but each will take up an entire day.

Fremont Street is an interesting bit of old Vegas, with a neat light show, certainly worth seeing. Be aware that your son will see quite a bit of skin there.

The Cirque du Soleil shows are quite amazing and have a price to match. I strongly recommend you see one of them. A more reasonably priced show is Penn and Teller; the bonus with P&T is they come out and meet with the audience after the show, pose for pictures, give autographs, etc. You can get last-minute discounted tickets from Tix4Tonight, which has several locations along the Strip.
