Need some input on a hydro 100? thinking about using it as a baler tractor square and round.
been told that they like to heat up,and freeze up taking the hydrostate out.
thought it would work cause of the shift on the go idea.

I have a 966 hydro (earlier version of Hydro 100) used for those exact uses. I have no problems with heating. I did have the hydro inut shaft break but I believe the Hydro 100 has the larger shaft. I've been very happy with it.

Hydros are good! The "heatup" guys dont know what they're talking about. They're simply not being operated correctly. When you're in the field, put in LOW range, not high like some guys do.That will cause heat.Kinda like driveing your car in town all day in high gear.Hydros are easy to "overload" simply because the s/r lever is pushed to far foreward to offten.Pull the lever back, let it 'breath' and not pull the guts out uf it.Another very important thing is to keep the oil clean!Iv'e owned 3 hydros;H 100,1026,currently an 826.I grew up around them, would not be scared to hook a plow to it and plow all day.Call me please,I will be happy to advise...Buy it,you'le love it!(970)417-1178 Steve'

Baling and forage harvesting was their forte when new, wasn't anything better. If they would of stuck around they'd have GPS and load control, the satellite would keep you on row and the load control would keep to motor in the sweet spot to put maximum tonnage through the unit.

dad had a 1066 hydro was perfect for cutting, baling, silage chopper ect. also planted with it run in low for all field work and keep the rpms up it will do fine. it would do tillage work but wasn't the most efficient or economical.

Thanks Everyone good info

Thanks again. Going to look one Friday
