rain has been scarce this year in southern missouri/ozarks, but we bailed anyway. This is the first time i've helped bail since i was in HighSchool, My cousin's "Bubba" equipment, all but my 584,

He road his 444 over with his bailer

tieing a bail, this was the first time he had used this bailer, so they came out kinda scraggly and the dryness didn't help

the poor 444 started giving me fits about 3/4 way through, a elderly neighbor GAVE it to him, it had been sitting outside a barn, the rear tires were rotted off, pto shaft was broke, but the loader was almost new,

it started to spit and die, would run for a round and die again, finally wouldn't run at all, so i got the portable air tank and blew through the sediment bowl backwards and it took care of it for now,

Cut about 20 acres yesterday and tedded it today. Should bale tomorrow, looked dry enuf to this afternoon. Gonna make some nice green lumps.

yes, it's DRY, was going to cut and bail on memorial day weekend, but it would have been all burnt up.

Re:"it started to spit and die,"
I cross a coupe of plug wires and get it to backfire and usually that shakes the obstruction loose too.

I'm just finding out how dry you guys are. No water to 'bail' anywhere. I'm in a motel in Conway AR. and it sure does look dry here. Saw a couple of farmers working ground and I couldn't hardly see the tractor for the dust. Hope you can get a second cutting.Jim

Ya after I get done with the morning computer stuff I will be going out and raking hay then take a break then fire up the old Oliver S88 and bale up the hay with the old NH850. Been way to dry here at the Lake of the Ozarks so guess a guy has to make hay when he can because if we do not start getting some rain soon every thing is going to start to dry up. Been having to water the garden and that is not a good sign for this time of year

as of tomorrow it will be 14 days since the last time i mowed the yard, grass is already starting to "crunch" when we walk across it, dirt road is horrible , if this was august ,september i would expect it, but not in may
