A few of us have restored military vehicles and are asked to participate in our local parade. An M38a1 1/4 ton Jeep, M37b1 Dodge 3/4 ton, & M35 2-1/2 ton. We are all proud to do our part.

Nice lineup Paul! Which is yours? Finishing up a CJ3A that was a Follow Me Jeep at Griffis AFB in Upstate, NY. Hopefully be ready for a parade soon.

Why did Air Force have a CJ3A? I would think they would have M38 or M38A1

i used to belong to the mvpa for many years. i sold my ford gpa a shorrt time ago. i hear its in dorn holland now. this the first year i have missed the parade in about 27 years. wally

Mine is the M38a1 at the front. The others are all local guys that just have a love for old iron. Besides the ones pictures we had a 1945 MB Jeep with trailer and a Mule.

They had lots of civilian Jeeps for utility use domestically, called a Civilian/NonTactical...runway (follow me jeeps) snow plowing...etc.

USAF used civilian Jeeps up until the late 70's-early 80's. I still had some records and paperwork on CJ-5s assigned to our squadron in 1985-88. The Jeeps were gone, replaced with Chevy LUVs, Dodge Ram 50s, and Ford Ranger/Couriers. The mini trucks didn't require an endorsement on your military license, the jeeps did (special purpose, 4WD, High center of gravity).

My cousin, his son and I drove through Coldwater on the way to the Log Road vintage motocross Memorial day. We had to detour for the parade. Log Road is about 10 miles west of Coldwater. The racing was great. Its sure fun to see those old bikes all fixed up and running great!!
