This truck is up for auction about 50 miles from my house. I like all sorts of old junk and thought I could be interested but I can find very little info on this unit. According to the auction listing it is a 1959 F600 and the hood is decaled as such.

My question is... Doesnt this look like a one ton? Looks like 16" tires to me. I'm wondering if someone just installed the cab off the F600 or perhaps just the hood?

Any Ford medium duty truck experts out there to shed light on a 59 F600?

Wonder if it is a 6 cyl or an 8?

Looks more like 350 than a 600. Has too wide 6 lug pattern to be a 600. Dont know when ford went to 6 lug on 600s. They were 5 till about that time.

Not certain but tinking My grandfather bught two new fords in 55 . At that time they were simply F5 & F 6 before the hundred series. The diffrence was very little in the f 5 & f 6 but the photo looks more like the heavy ton what would probab ly be a 450 or so today. The F 600 would have definately had 750 or 825 X 20 inch rubber no 16 in tire. Old pick ups are pretty collectible and I guess if you like old trucks the little truck is a good loker.

Did a google search for 59 f600 trucks and turned up a host of trucks. Looking at the google trucks and the picture from the auction site, it looks like the same truck to me.

the photo of the green truck is a f350 with 16 inch wheels. the hood is a 60 with 60 hood orniments. i have had nearly a dozen 57-60 f100-f700.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought that was the case, but my dad insisted that it was a vintage F600. My first clue was the all-terrain tires on the rear. Those had to have come off of a modern vehicle. The tread pattern didnt look like anything that would be available for a truck with 20" rubber.

That is NOT an F-600. The obvious give-away is the front fenders. The truck in the picture has the same front fenders as the F100 and the F250. An F600 would have the W-I-D-E front fenders.
