It seems like my get-up-an-go got up and went sometime this morning. LOL. I barely had the ambition to walk the house dog a little while ago. It is hot and humid here right now and that just saps me any more. I have been on blood pressure meds now and I can't take the heat like before. I think after I post this I am going to take a nap. Maybe eat a piece of home made black berry jam cake that is my father's day gift from the wife first. Then I will have the energy to sleep during my nap. LMAO

Exactly the same here. But I'm several years younger! When the doctor finds a blood pressure drug that works(we keep trying to find one that does the job without negative side effects) I say it makes a mid day nap necessary!

Watch out if the doc has you try Lisinopril. I have 2 damaged kidneys from using that one for 15 years.

Might try and get your testosterone level checked. Lack of energy is just one of the symptoms that prevail. I've been on a program with the shots and I can tell you they(shots) work for me. No un-necessary naps, more alert, some renewed energy level. My son who is 41 has the exact problems I have with all the symptoms I was plagued with. He goes for the blood test (extensive work up)soon. I'm 76 years old so I can understand your daily problems with lack of energy, naps at all hours etc. Hope you find out whats causing your problems, it's not the weather!! Lou.

Need to stay away from Simvastatin; gave me the scours.

Changed to a home remedy that helps control high blood pressure.

Available at grocery stores without a prescription.

Not to make you mad, but I have been on it for years, Diabetic also, no trouble with kidneys or liver function checked every year, still above the dirt. I guess it affects different people differently.Maybe your dosage was extreeme. JMHO. LOU.

Nothing wrong health wise just a lazy day. I seem to find them more as the 6 decades have passed.

James, Reading the posts about damaging drugs Simvastatin, lisinopril.I'm still taking both in small quantity's and I'm still above the dirt (to most a disappointment).A good doctors knowledge is esential for good healt care. JMHO. LOU

69 and have been on blood preasure medicine (after heart problems) for several years now. I think it does affect the get up and go..Combination of Amlodipine, minoxidil , labetalol, & clonidine tryin to hold it at 65 over 120 but some days get lower and that is when it is really bad.

I'm going to guess that most of us on here know what "scours" is. I'm also going to guess the general populaton doesn't !
Interesting article too. Now to get the gas from the gut into the circulatory system.

jm watch out taking minoxjdil, that stuff put me in the hospital with severe chest pain, thought Iwas having a heart attack, come to find have fluid around my heart caused by the minoxidil, they stuck a probe between my ribs and drained over a litter of fluid.

Liver is cast iron, regular doctor worthless. Been seeing a kidney specialists since last October. Got the heart attack range potassium and sodium levels back to normal. Lots of progress but the damage is done.

Marilyn's younger sister had nerve damage from taking a cholesterol drug. Don't know which drug it was, but she was dragging a leg when she walked for awhile. A year later she still has a limp. I've been on Simvastatin for a month now and yesterday I finally broke down and took Imodium to get some relief. Can't be doing this for the rest of my life. Jim

I've been on Lisinopril quite a while myself, and there are times when it takes a while to get out of a chair. Many times, my BP is pretty low at these times. I'm taking the minumum dose of the stuff, so I can't cut back. Something I may have to live with or may I should just lose some weight.

Boy I sure know what you mean. I am doing ok while on my tractor mowing, but when I get off and get my tractor loaded, and back in my truck I am about bushed. Just a walk, a block to where my tractors and shop, wears me out. Maybe pushing 70 has something to do with it, beats me. Stan

JD I think mine took the day off along with yours. Got up had breakfast and then went back to bed. Didn't even feel like drinking a BEER this evening.

I felt awful for several years, and almost died from congestive heart failure last November. I now take Lasix, Lisinopril, and 2 other drugs, and feel like a million dollars, compared to how I did feel.I have lost over 120 pounds, most of it fluid... Now I hop out of bed between 4 and 5 AM, and go non-stop til dark. I sure am grateful for the second chance I got.

I had to take metrolpolol (sp?), and it really drug me down. I got a 2nd opinion and am not taking it at present time and feel much beter, more energy, more ambition ,and, get up and go.

I was as lazy as a cut dog for a couple of days and couldn't figure out what the cause was. Yesterday I started putting it all together and figured I was dehydrated. Downed a pitcher of water and I accomplished more after supper last night than I had in the two days previous. This hot sappy weather will wilt you quick.
