It will be another week before I can begin to cut this field which will be a month later than usual. It is being pounded down by heavy downpours every couple of days with not much of a let up in sight. Good thing it's just a hobby.

Tom, would love to make a swap with you for a week or so! We are located in the south end of the Okanagan Valley in BC which is a semi arid desert. You wouldn't know it from this springs weather. The picture with the worked up land is our place taken a few years ago from the top the adjacent mountain, the second picture is from the same location looking south towards the town of Summerland.

Leon,

Those pictures are absolutely stunning. I've been through Ontario province quite a few times and into Quebec a couple of times, but I've never been west in Canada.

"Semi-arid desert" - - - Do you normally have to irrigate to get those beautiful green fields?

Thanks for the pictures.

Count your blessings. It's incredibly dry here in Central Kentucky. No significant rain in the forecast in the next 10 days. Our crops will be toast by then.

Hi Tom, yes, irrigation is needed otherwise it would be dry and brown during June,July and August. We have a large reservoir up the valley which we are fed through a pipeline, so lots of pressure and no need for pumps. If you ever get the chance take the drive from Calgary west through the Rockies and down through the south central BC interior. the Okanagan valley is beautiful. thanks for your interest. Leon
