Corn tassling early

I've never seen corn shoot a tassle around here, s.c. ne. this early. Usually around the 4th of july or after is normal. Just a few here and there but I guess it dosn't have to be tall to put on a good ear. It's around 6 to 7 feet tall now.

If it is as hot and dry as it is here in Missouri it is because the corn is trying to make it before it gets burned up. All plants if it gets to hot and or dry will go to seed early in the hope to grow again next year

I have dryland doing that in real dry spots, that stuff is only waist high but the good pivot irrigated is also to where you can see the flag leaf sticking up. I've been putting down 2.25" of water on a week for the last 3 weeks keeping it nice and moist.

Ive already pick mine last week of may lasted 10 days and I have bush hoged and waiting for rain so I can disk it up.Best sweet corn Ive ever had, had an acre and it sold for 4 dz.
