First and foremost... THANK YOU ALL who have served/are serving in the US military. Nothing but respect and gratitude.

My husband put his tractors out on the lawn. I always give him a bad time that he is showing off... he says he doesn't want them to develop a vitamin D definciency from sitting in a dark shed with no windows - so he HAS to put them out by the road.

We put some flags on them and in the rust garden so we are ready for those who tootle on by our place on the 4th.(*Garden flags inspired by Guido.) HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TOMORROW!

I know I have said this before, but you really should try to find some way of turning your pictures into a calendar. That way, we could enjoy them without having to switch the computor on. Sorry to repeat myself, best wishes for a good 4th July from England, Phil.

Phil S.,

Thanks! I really should look into it... but if I do at all, it will likely be further down the road. Though maybe making calendars would permit me to quit my two part-time jobs.

Daryl in PA,

Thanks!

Think half the country will just be trying to keep cool this year.

Really cool pics. I really enjoy when people show off these old tractors in the parades and shows. Good ol' American heritage.

Thanks for sharing

The garden is cool also.

Yes, tomorrow marks INDEPENDENCE DAY, and I for one can never be reminded too many times. Thank you much, and may God always bless our nation. Thanks very much.

And by the way, I have been studying your '31 Farmall. Studying and studying. You modified it, right? I can't quite put my finger on it. Not LP. Not solar powered. Modified though. Greatly modified. 12" wide rears, not original, right? Something about that tractor is not how it rolled off of the assemby line, but, looks great. Really does. Wish I had one like it. Seriously. America is a pretty good place to live, huh?

Thanks. We both just love old stuff... anything rusty - any old building that's falling down... but coulda, woulda, shoulda been saved. Fun to share with others who like this stuff too.

Sounds like you have a nice collection. Just enjoy them - no matter if you live in town or in the country. Do something fun with them and take your wife along... a tractor drive, a threshing show in your area or a parade. All are really enjoyable - encourage her to enjoy them "with" you. That's what makes it fun - sharing a hobby together!

When I saw the '31 Farmall Regular with no engine I thought you were gonna park it beside the road and mount the mailbox on it! LOL I am sure that when you are finished it will look as good as the other two.

Nice pics!
I'll have a few of mine setting out front tomorrow too.
'37 Farmall F20, '48 Ford 8N, '49 Allis C, etc.
I'll try to get some pics to compete!

Proud to have served!

Mark IN,
Yes, the US is a great nation we are blessed to live in. Can't imagine living anywhere else on this big ol' round ball. But I think that's the way one should feel about one's homeland - no matter its location. (And to give credit to the rest of the world, since this is the only country I have ever resided in - I know there are many, many beautiful places in this world.]

And yes, the rusty Regular has definitely been modified... like I told The Red - it is really easy on gas and does not burn any oil at all. LOL!

And yep, we bought the wheels on Fleece.bay - they were from an F20 (though we actually got a great price, we only paid $200... since one wheel had a small crack). But husband is a welder by trade, so not a problem to us. It has been fixed and the repair is rusting up nicely. The Regular will never be painted, we are keeping it rusty and hope to eventually find an equally rusty IHC Little Wonder plow to put behind her.

We added several other things: rear foot brake, foot rests, PTO extension and she will have an original Farmall mudscraper too... all nice and rusty. And no, they did not come from the factory with these items, but farmers of that era could have added those items if they chose to, and we just like it like that. The cherry on the parfait will be adding a castiron seat - also not factory, but we just want one.

ShadetreeRet,

Now that would be a cool mailbox! LOL. And would likely cure the problem of large tractors and the county snowplow hitting our box. We are on a small hill with no-passing zone - so our box gets nailed A LOT! Husband built it so it rotates to the side when smacked by something... we got tired of buying mailboxes.

We are going to keep the Regular rusty - but my husband will go through everything so it runs great, just looks ancient. Hopefully will be ready for shows in 2013... he works long hours and has had a couple other projects that took priority over the Regular. It will be his next project.

Royse,

Thanks again for serving our country!

Yes, please post come competing pics. LOL. I love when people post pictures... fun to see the tractors, equipment, barns, gardens, critters and different parts of the country and world.

larry@stinescorner,

Thanks!

You always post neat photos. Photography is so much fun and with digital cameras one can just go whole-hog and shoot tons of pics - then just delete any that aren't great quality... it is awesome.
