aluminum weights

Please excuse me if this has been covered before, but why would there be such a thing as aluminum weights?
Good Luck
Kenny
P.S. Do you suppose they would be easier to lift?
( Just kidding)

They work well for show tractors as stated. But they will throw other pulling competitors off on how much weight is on the front end. It could make them balance there own tractor wrong.

Counter measures used during pulling competitions- it makes your competitors do their own leg work and figure it out for themselves. It prevents copying among competitors, can't copy if you can't figure out what they're doing.

(quoted from post at 18:47:47 07/06/12) Why not use helium weights ?

back when we used to farm pull our old 856, we were on one heck of a wining streak...Just for grins we told a local loudmouth we were running helium in the tires, and that it turned to liquid and got heavier when the tires were spinning, but went back to a gas, and lighter, when we scaled in.

WOW did that get the rumor mill fired up, especially after taking my big air bubble, made from an old 100# propane tank, and painting it up and putting helium decals on it!

It's another good way to get people all upset. Not only enter a class 1500 lbs lighter than your tractor's build weight, but appearing to be carrying 500 lbs on the rack.
