blooding jd 830

Hi,
Having trouble getting fuel to the filters after changing them on a jd 830 2cyl electric start. There is plenty of fuel coming from the tank to the fuel bowl at the back of the filters. I loosened the bowl and cleaned the gause in the bowl allowed it to fill and retightened it. I have undone the bleeder nuts at the top of the filter but no fuel is comming through. Do I need to crank the tractor. Also will the injectors need bleeding.
Thanks,Michael.

Whatever you do, DON'T crank the tractor until you have fuel, without air bubbles, all the way to the injector pump inlet.

I rigged a gas cap with a tire valve stem- put just a little air pressure in the tank (don't get crazy, or you'll blow it up- just need a couple of pounds), and it will do wonders in urging the fuel along in the bleeding process.

Just re-read your post- you are trying to bleed after putting on new filters, not after it ran out of fuel. DOUBLY IMPORTANT not to crank the engine- because you still have fuel in the injector pump and to the injectors. If you can get the filters bled, it should just start right up, without having to bleed pump or injectors.

Unless you crank it, and bring the air along from the filters- then you get to bleed everything.
