the county library had a free open mike night,I went with my harmonica,.... I was probably the worst musican there,,,, but I do say I was better than the comedian and the poetry reader, I just wanted to see if I had a big enough set to get up in front of a crowd and try it, Nobody threw any tomatoes at me,and they have another session July 26 and they said I can come back!

Man, that does take.... a "set"

I gotta give you a lot of credit for doing it -

Not me - not in a million years.

HOWEVER - I'd still have to give the comedian MORE credit, especially if they were bad.

Music is one thing - but to go up there trying to make people laugh has to be an incredible amount of pressure - especially when nobody's laughing!

good job larry!!!!i played drums in a number of bands. first couple times out will give ya knots in yer gut, but then you get used to it and it becomes fun. two bits of advice, 1st....never try and impress the imaginary musician in the audience (he doesnt exist) and if you make a mistake, never stop, play right thru it. no one will notice.

Glad you got to do that Larry !!
Wish I had the nerve to do that 40 years ago.. Maybe my life would have taken another turn.

I waited till I was too old to do what you did, and me with my off and on relationship with my old guitar, I lost most of my voice because of not practicing.

Noe that you have turned "professional", can I have your autograph? Congratulations for having the nerve to do it. I thought about performing in public a few times, but chickened out.

Saw a stat last weekend that people are more afraid of public speaking-for me that includes a musical instrument-than they are of death! You are brave!
