Hey guys, just thought you might want to see how things look out west. Unbelievably dry here this year, but at least we have irrigation water.

Grass alfalfa mix, keeping it wet, and looks good.

This is a sample of our pasture. We have not had cows on it since June of 2011, so this shows all of this years growth. Now, guess where the irrigation water ran?

Have 2 sections of CRP opened up for emergency grazing that we have cows on. Not much for feed value, but with some supplements, the cows/calves look great.

Cut some hay this morning.

Oats look decent, will start cutting them for hay this weekend.

David sorry to see you are even shorter on H20 than us here in NE Wyo, this is a shot of my spring wheat from yesterday, the first pic is my 1470 setting in my hay field as you can see not much growth at all but looks greener than your area the bales in the back ground are wheat bales, hope you get some much needed rains soon cnt

Neat pics. Beautiful there, but dry as can be.
That's why I don't complain about the rain anymore. You can always learn to live with the water, but can't go too long without it.
No rain, NO HAY!!!

You guys use well or reservoir water?here we are down to 70% reservoir water-no wells here. One small 'company' is down to 40%.All our reservoirs are expected to be totally DRAINED this year. :( we're gonna need a 300%-yes 300% snowpack to just get back to 100%

We're on reservoir water. Still running 100%, and will till the 1st of September it sounds. We have a good priority water right, so as long as snow pack is average, we'll be alright again next year. If it's way below average again, like this year, we're in for a rough year.

Looks like plenty of clouds. That's how it's been here lately, lots of clouds, but can't get enough of them together to rain.

Just got back from a trip thru Colorado boulder west, to leadville, glenwood springs, things are pretty wet in the mountains. Went down to Twin Lakes south of leadville, about dried up, Blue Meza Res. west of Gunnison is problaly 50' low from full. Not a lot of water around that area. Here is western Nebr. unreal how dry it is. Everything that isn't irragated is burning up. The guys I work for raise potatoes and corn, pivots haven't been shut of since the middle of may except for a day or two. funtwohunt
