Farmall Cub tractors

Hello, my name is Tom Olenych and I'm looking for a Farmall Cub or A tractor to buy, hopefully with a 60" belly mower.
The internet can be pretty confusing so I'm hoping someone who reads this e-mail can point me in the direction of finding a used one.
Thanks!

A lot would depend on what where you are located Tom.
I have a Cub with a 60 inch mower deck. If you're only considering one of these two tractors I would recommend going with the A.
The Cub just doesn't have the horsepower to get itself and the mower going at the same time. At least not very well.
It would be much better if they had live or psuedo-live PTO. By psuedo-live I mean something like an Allis CA or WD.

I would also say go with the Farmall A.
Is the cub you are talking about the low-boy type, White and yellow in color? Or the old Red ones from the 50's? The old red ones are only 9 HP, the low-boys are 14hp I think.
The old red ones are not worth the $ 2,500 price tag. (Cant understand this) Only a restored A is worth $ 2,500.

For the Cub, the Woods 59 doesn't pull as hard as the Danco 60" mower...but both are a strain on an original Cub. The Woods 42 belly mower is just about ideal, and will do just as good a job as the other two as long as you keep the blades sharp.

My comments are based upon operating a Cub with various mowers for my dad's custom mowing operation all through my high school years.
